Construction has begun at a 13-acre property off US 41 in Sarasota where a residential and recreational development will take shape.
A ceremonial groundbreaking this week marked a new chapter for the former site of Bath + Racquet Club in Sarasota.
Tucked behind Trader Joe’s and Chili’s on Robinhood Street, the site that used to be a hub for tennis enthusiasts is now a hard-hat zone filled with heavy machinery.
“Bath + Racquet is officially underway, officially under construction,” said Fabio Di Prima, president of Silver Sky Capital, which is developing the property. His company took out a $79 million construction loan for the project in March, the Business Observer previously reported.
When redeveloped, the location will be home to Bath + Racquet Residences & Club, a luxury condominium with 256 units as well as 13 outdoor tennis courts, 12 indoor pickleball courts, four indoor pickleball courts, a full-service restaurant and bar for members and residents, pool, spa and fitness center.
