Florida Breaks Tourism Record

Florida Breaks Tourism Record

Florida has once again broken their own record for tourism growth in 2017. According to Visit Florida, a record 116.5 million visitors traveled to Florida in 2017, an increase of 3.6 percent over last year and the largest number of visitors in the state’s history.

Even with losing 1.8 million visitors due to Hurricane Irma, we set tourism records. We live in Florida, We Love Florida, and after reading the article by Visit Florida, it’s quite clear Tourism Will Continue To Thrive In Florida. “Visitors are not only enjoying our hotels and restaurants,” the article states, “they’re simultaneously boosting state and local revenues, and supporting 1.4 million industry jobs across the state.”

One cannot mention the Sunshine State without considering the warm climate, stunning beaches, vacation lifestyle, championship golf courses, and abundance of sunshine. According to LiveWell.Com, it’s no accident people feel better in the sunshine state as some of the positive effects of the sun include; enhancing your mood, treating seasonal depression, relieving stress, improving sleep, and increasing Vitamin D.

From Disney and Legoland, to SeaWorld, Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Universal Orlando Resort, and the Imagine Museum, it’s no wonder Orlando ranks number one in the state. Sarasota may not rank among the top, but the truth is, we don’t want it to. We’re Growing At Tremendous Speed as is and we all love our big, small town. In the March 2018 issue of Sarasota Magazine, Tom Barwin (Sarasota City Manager) stated, “the city has approved plans for 1,700 apartments, 1,400 condominiums and 1,000 hotel rooms.”

Forbes Magazine listed Sarasota as one of America’s Fastest Growing Cities Of 2018. Job growth was listed at a staggering 3.99% in 2017, while wages are said to increase by an estimated 7.22% in 2018.

Living In Sarasota offers tremendous value to residents. From a plethora of entertainment venues, art museums, eclectic restaurants, breweries, shopping, and the exquisite white sand of Siesta Key beach, if you can invest and have a home here, we strongly recommend it.
