Turns out, it’s not only the uber wealthy that move to the sunshine state. Known for attracting retirees for many decades, Florida is clearly finding more success at drawing in working-age residents. Florida leads the nation in attracting residents, with 808,789 new arrivals in 2018, according to U.S. Census Bureau data recently released. These new arrivals have the power to tip the scales for everything from real estate trends to elections. (Florida is largest swing state in America, where elections are often decided by pencil-thin margins.)
