Sarasota Ranked Top 25 Most Desirable Places in the Country.

From the beautiful white sandy beaches of Siesta Key to the ever-expanding and thriving downtown Sarasota, it’s no wonder the U.S. News and World Report ranked Sarasota as one of the Top 25 most desirable places to live in the United States.

The popular rankings report based their results on affordability, job market, and population growth due to migration. They then surveyed people across the country to ask where they would like to live if given the choice. We’re proud to announce Sarasota ranked #20 of the Top 25.

The list includes cities like; Spokane (Ranked #25), Asheville (tied at #16 with Santa Barbara), Austin (#9), and New York City (#8). The list had a tremendous four-way tie for the lead with Portland, San Francisco, Colorado Springs, and Honolulu. Other cities in Florida also ranking on the list are: Fort Myers (#12), Pensacola (#15), and Port St. Lucie (#23).

U.S. News also listed Sarasota as, “A popular retirement destination with a median resident age over 51.” They also noted the tremendous growth in Sarasota and commented on the results, “It’s no wonder, with year-round warm weather and beaches popular among tourists and residents alike.”

Regarding the population, U.S. News lists the population of Sarasota as 768, 381, but expect that number to increase with the addition of the Vue, the Grand (supplying 72 condos), BLVD (49 condos), and The Mark (157 condos). The median home price is listed at $237,260 and the median annual salary is $42,680.
